Dear Whanau/Caregivers,
As you will be aware, our school’s PTA
Gala is to be held in Term 4 on Saturday 31st October. This is a major fundraising event for this
year and will bring the community together for a fun day of celebration.
Each syndicate is responsible for
co-ordinating and running stalls on the day.
Kauri
Team (Rooms 5, 6, 10 and 11) have
the following stalls:
1. Selling ‘Used Sports Gear’
2.
‘Mystery Jars’ - this involves attempting to throw quoits over brightly
decorated jars. If you get the quoit
over the jar, you win the jar and the prize inside.
We have a couple of requests leading up
to our big day.
1. Clean
jars with lids – for the ‘Mystery Jar Stall’,
we will be collecting clean jars with lids, to decorate in our classrooms
during week 10 of this term. We ask that
each child brings along a clean, dry jar to add to our collection. (eg. pasta sauce jars). We would like the jars to be brought to
school by Friday 18th September – Week 9, so we can decorate them
the following week.
2. Volunteers to help on the KAURI TEAM stalls – we require a number of parents from Rooms 5, 6, 10 and 11
to help us ‘man’ our stalls on the day.
This would require a small amount of time during the day of the gala,
standing at the stall, helping to either sell the sports gear or manage the ‘Mystery
Jar Stall’. It can be as little as ½ an
hour. If you are able to do this, please
fill in the form below and return it to the classroom teacher as soon as
possible so we can compile a roster. We
are unable to allocate specific times or which stall you will be on until we
get enough volunteers. The more volunteers
we get the better J
The classroom
teachers will be busy on some specific teacher stalls e.g. ‘Dunk the Teacher’
or ‘Tape the Teacher’, so will be unavailable to be on the Kauri Team
Stalls. For this reason, we really do
need your help.
3. 2nd Hand Sports Gear
There will be
opportunities over the next few weeks to start collecting your unwanted
treasures together, for the school to sell in various stalls. Our ‘2nd Hand Sports Gear Stall’
is one of these. So start spring
cleaning early and get together your pre-loved sports gear. We will let you know when to start bringing
it to school. (Early term 4)
We are very excited to be having an
active role in the PTA Gala. Thank you
for your support. ‘Many hands make light
work’.
