GALA UPDATE

     Saturday 31st October
            10am – 2pm
          www.woodstock.school.nz/gala

The school holidays are nearly here and no doubt everyone is ready for a break!

When Term 4 begins there will only be 3 weeks until our Gala Day so preparations will be in full swing!

** LUCKY BOTTLE DIP **
First week back we would appreciate it if every school family could bring in a wrapped up bottle of any kind for our ‘Lucky Bottle Dip’ game at the gala.
These can be dropped into the ‘Bottle Box’ which will be in the school office.
i.e. bottle of sauce, bottle of body wash, bottle of oil, bottle of perfume, non-alcoholic bottles….use your imagination!

** GALA TOKENS **
We will be selling gala tokens in advance of the gala day.
This is a great alternative to paying for everything by cash on the day!

These will be Admit One Tokens and will be sold in bags of:
$20.00/$30.00/$40.00 or $50.00.

Each Token will have a $1.00 value.
We will let you know when and where these can be pre-purchased.

** SECOND HAND STUFF **
WHITE ELEPHANT / SPORTS GEAR / BOOKS / KIDS DRESS UPS

PLEASE…have a good spring clean over the holidays and hold onto your second hand treasures for us.
We will have on-site container storage at school in Term 4 which will be available for dropoffs.  We will let you know dropoff times/days when school starts back so keep checking your notices for updates.

Pre-loved Kids Dress Up Costumes can be washed and dropped off NOW to Room 7,8 or 9 (Kowhai Syndicate).  Have a check of what your children have grown up or out of!

If you haven’t already, check out the School Gala Link on our School Website.
Also, please LIKE our Woodstock Primary School Facebook page and INVITE your friends to our special event!

Woodstock Cricket - Term 4 Season 2015

We have been advised that the season for Term 4 will begin on Friday 23rd October and will finish on Friday 11th December 2015. The start time for the games is 5.30pm. The venue is announced once the draw has been completed.

If your child is interested in playing ‘Kiwi’ Cricket for Woodstock School please fill in the following details and return to school by Friday 25 September 2015.

As you can appreciate, organising teams is a time consuming job, and it is most frustrating when children pull out once the teams have been organised, so please ensure you have discussed with your child that Cricket is a commitment that involves weekly practises and a game every Friday night.

The Woodstock School Cricket teams cater for our year 1 to 6 students. Each team requires 8 students per team.
The organisations of these teams are as follows:
  • Year 1 & 2 students play together in a team.
  • Depending on numbers of children interested there will be a team for
- Year 3
- Year 4
- Year 5 & 6

Child’s name…………………………………………  Date of Birth………………

Year level………………………….      Room……………………….

Team played for last season (if applicable)…………………………

As with all our sports we rely heavily on volunteers for the role of coach and manager. Your assistance and time is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately if we have no volunteers for coach or manager we will be unable to register the team.

I would like to help as (please circle)          Coach                                       Manager

Parent Name…………………………………………………… (Please print)

Parent signature…………………………………………………

Phone number…………………………

Practise times will be set by Coaches/Managers.

Fees: These are dependent on the number of students who register to play cricket. The following is an indication of the fees - $20.00.
PLEASE DO NOT PAY THE FEES UNTIL YOU ARE INVOICED BY THE SCHOOL OFFICE AND YOUR CHILD’S TEAM IS FINALISED.
More information about your child’s team, uniforms and fees will follow in another newsletter. Any queries please contact Rachael Tangney in Room 10.
