School Hangi - Friday 7 November

Kia ora Whanau,

Whanau Awhina would like to invite all tamariki and kaiako/kaimahi (teachers/helpers) to partake in a hangi on Friday the 7th of November.

Some of our kapa haka boys have been involved in an initiative where they would like to establish a permanent hangi pit for the school community. Whanau Awhina would like to awhi (support) this initiative by working alongside our tamariki to prepare and deliver a tasty hangi next week.

We invite all tauira to bring along a potato or kumara to contribute toward the hangi – these may be left in the box in the school reception area from now until Wednesday November 5th. A gold coin donation would also be appreciated and go toward the cost of other ingredients that will go in the hangi – this can be taken to the office in an envelope marked “hangi”.

We look forward to working with our tamariki and hope to continue the learning that comes with organising this type of event. Hei kona,
