Enrolment Information

If your child is turning 5 this year please read this.
The Woodstock Board of Trustees invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Woodstock School for the period  29 July 2013 to 12 December, 2013.

The Board has determined that a total of 20 places are likely to be available for Out of Home Zone students during this period.  The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s enrolment zone.

Application forms are available from the school office ph (07) 855 6686, fax (07) 8537056, email frontoffice@woodstock.school.nz

The deadline for receipt of application for Out of Home Zone places is 4pm Friday 24th May, 2013.

Parents who live within the home zone and who intend enrolling their child at any time should notify the school by Friday 17th May, 2013 to assist the school in planning appropriately for this period. Students in the home zone are entitled to enrol at the school.

If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot (except in the case of special programmes, where the criteria in the enrolment scheme apply).

If a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be held on Tuesday 28th May, 2013. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

Kowhai Tryathlon

Dear Parents/Caregivers of Kowhai Syndicate (Rooms, 5, 7, 8, 9),

Nau mai, haere mai, piki mai!

We are looking forward to having our fun Kowhai Tryathlon on Wednesday 27 February at 11:00 a.m.

We welcome you all, parents/caregivers and whānau (family) to come along and enjoy our efforts.

We intend to assemble on the field by the Oak trees at 11:00 a.m. before beginning the tryathlon. The events begin with swimming, then scootering around the courts followed by a run around the field where we will finish.

Your child will need sunblock, their togs and a dry towel in a plastic bag. A gentle reminder, it is very helpful if togs, towels and undies are named.

We look forward to seeing you at our fun Kowhai Tryathlon.

Yours Sincerely,

The Kowhai Syndicate Teaching Team
Kym Lenihan, Julia Turner, Leigh Paterson and Kylie Te Arihi

Touch Rugby

Woodstock School Touch Coaches 2013

The touch season will be beginning shortly (date yet to be confirmed). The season in term 1 will be 6-8 weeks. This Term the games will be played at either Steele Park Monday afternoons or Swarbrick Park Thursday afternoons. (Coaches choice).
Before I put out a letter to all students to register their interest in playing touch I firstly need to know who is able to volunteer their time to coach. As with all our sports we rely heavily on volunteers for the role of coach and manager.  Your assistance and time is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately if we have no volunteers for coach or manager we will be unable to register the team.
So… are you able to coach a Woodstock School team?
The age groups are:
  • Year 1 and 2 play together in a team
  • Year 3 and 4 play together in a team
  • Year 5 and 6 play together in a team

Forms need to be returned tothe school office by Friday 15th of February.

 Coaches and Managers:
With all sports at Woodstock School we rely on volunteers for the roles of coach and manager. Please indicate on the form below whether you would be available to assist us in this area.
