Pasifika and Kapahaka performance at the Waikato Museum - International Children’s Day, March 6

Many thanks to our Kapahaka and Pasifika performance groups who performed a number of items at the Waikato Museum, on International Children’s Day on March 6. We are very proud of you, and the audience loved it. Thank you too, to our supportive parents, and our tutors, Sala and Katrina Taula, Marina McMahon-Ieremia, Kelly Spriggs and Antoon Whiu. Thanks also to assistance provided by Soteria Ieremia and Wanda Ieremia-Allan in setting the area up.

Rimu Syndicates Visit and Walk

On Thursday 24th March, Rimu syndicate spent a day out in our community. As part of our learning for this term we had the opportunity to explore two of Hamilton’s special places with our friends from school. We had a walk along the Waikato River and we visited Lake Rotoroa. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the mums, dads and grandparents who helped us to make our trip such as success.

Bake Stall

Room 9 are going to be holding a bake-stall as part of their topic ‘Living in a Globalized World’, to raise money for the victims of the Christchurch earthquake. It will be held on Thursday 7th April from 2:45 - 3:15 in the court (or outside the Junior Bookroom if it is raining) and there will be all sorts of yummy baked goods to buy! The children have worked very hard planning this to make it a success. Please come along and help us to help Christchurch!

Photographs Class and Portrait Photographs will be taken at school on Monday 4th April. Last day for ordering these photographs will be tomorrow Friday 1 April. Order envelopes have already been sent home with children. If you require another order envelope or a sibling envelope, please see the office.

PARKING

Parents are asked not to stop or park on the dotted yellow lines. This is an offence and could result in a prosecution. Please do not come into the school staff car park as this is endangers the students entering or leaving the school. Please co-operate with the staff on duty.

Cool to be Kind

This award goes to children that have been noticed being kind, helpful, thoughtful or generous towards others: The following children have been awarded this at recent assemblies Jacob Hudson –Helping friends that were hurt. Keelan Stewart – Sharing his school cooking with his class. Jackson Kerr – Using his manners & opening the door for a visitor. Blake Murray – Bringing a child who was hurt to the sickbay and making sure they were alright. Caleb Tuhua – Helping unload Garage Sale goods for a member of the public.

First Credit Union A school banking service is provided by First Credit Union to all pupils at Woodstock School. Kelly Sports April School Holiday programme Kelly Sports are running an April School holiday programme from 3 great venues, Southwell, Hamilton Girls High and Bankwood Schools. Hamilton City Libraries April School Holiday Programme, Spend, Stash or Save In partnership with Judi Billcliff, Education Officer, Hamilton Budgeting Advisory Trust, Hamilton City Libraries are hosting a free school holiday programme for 8-12 year olds.
