Dear
Parents/Caregivers,
As part of our
learning this term, we are able to attend the ‘Ag Village’ at Mystery Creek, to
experience life from 100 years ago. The
facilitator from the Te Awamutu Museum, who spent a morning with us learning
about toys from the past earlier this term, will join us at Mystery Creek,
taking us through a range of learning activities. We we will be able to step back in time; role
playing different aspects of life. The
children will “explore the restored heritage buildings in a
peaceful lake setting. The schoolhouse, hospital, church, blacksmith and garage
are authentically furnished, and kids especially love the 19th century jail!
Pump petrol at the Clydesdale Garage, try out a 100 year old school desk and
ring the school bell!”
When: Monday 23rd June 2014
Venue: Mystery Creek Events Centre – ‘Ag Village’
Time: We will leave school at 9.15am, and return to school at 1.45pm.
