PTA AGM

Kapahaka Information

We would like to welcome Whaea Penny, Whaea Troy and HakaHiva Pacific Island Dance Company (https://www.facebook.com/haka.hiva) to Woodstock School. Whaea Penny and Whaea Troy are our new tutors for Kapa Haka. We are excited to have them as part of our kura and to have them share their knowledge and skills with our students.

Whaea Penny Grey (Director/Owner of HakaHiva Ltd)

Of Niuean/Pakeha decent, has lived in Waikato for the last 25years, Mother of 2 children, from a teaching background, has been working within Waikato schools for the last 6 years with Pasifika and Kapahaka groups. 

Whaea Troy Colins (Lead Kapahaka Tutor)

From the Wairarapa, mother of 6, from a performing arts background. Has been involved with HakaHiva Ltd over the past 3-4 years and loves working with all the children we meet.

We are passionate about 'keeping culture alive' in our schools and communities through Kapahaka and Pasifika groups. We are looking forward to being part of the Woodstock School community through Kapahaka this year. Feel free to say hi and introduce yourselves to us.

Pasifika Group

WOODSTOCK SCHOOL PASIFIKA GROUP 2015:

Talofa lava,

Your child has expressed an interest in joining the Pasifika group for this year.

Practices for term 1 are about to start, and  we would like this permission slip returned to the office  by Monday 16 February please.

Practices are held in the hall at lunchtime on Fridays, and as a performance comes up, there may be extra practices in the lunch hour.

We welcome back Sau Lefeau and Marina Mc Mahon-Ieremia, who are our tutors again this year.

We ask that you discuss with your child/ren about meeting the following expectations before completing the consent form below:

-      Attend all practice sessions

-      Obey the instructions  of the tutors

-      Accept the behaviour standards necessary for the success of the programme.

Waipa Fun Run

Dear Parents/Caregivers

WAIPA FUN RUN SCHOOLS CHALLENGE

Your child has expressed an interest to participate in the ‘WAIPA FUN RUN SCHOOLS CHALLENGE’. We would love to have them involved and representing Woodstock School on this great day out. 

The fun run is a 2km run on Sunday the 15^th of March.  The course starts and finishes at the Victoria Square, Cambridge.  School teams will meet in front of the Town Hall before 10.00 where there will be a Zumba warm-up.

As it is not a school day parents/whanau will be responsible for supervising and providing transport for their child/ren to and from this event.

Races times are:

10.40 am:     Year 5-6

10.50 am:     Year 3-4

Entry fee per child is $5.00.

Please return the following permission form and the $5.00 fee by Thursday the 26^rd of February.

Start of the year information
