April 2015
Dear
Parents/Caregivers,
We
are planning to have a working bee on the afternoon of Saturday 9 May. We have
a variety of projects that we would like to undertake on this day to help with
our elective and Enviro-school projects. If you are able to provide either a
skill in a particular area, supply some materials that we need or are willing
to come along and help out wherever, we would extremely grateful!
We are planning to;
- Tidy and weed gardens around the school.
- Dig out a garden
- Re-paint seating around the school and boards around the CE Unit
- Repaint games on concrete and prime seats around the trees
- Clear and tidy area along boundary fences
- Move our chicken coop
- Clean out worm bins and compost bins
- Tidy up area around our veggie garden and our school orchard
- Extend the veggie garden fencing
We
need;
- “Painters” to help with painting new games on our asphalt and repainting our seats around the school.
- “Builders” to repair our picnic tables and extend our veggie garden fencing.
- “Gardeners” to help with weeding and tidying up our gardens and grounds.
- “Labourers” to help out where necessary.
We
would like;
- Sources or contacts for either free or cheap bright paint suitable for concrete and outdoor use and wood, wire for our fencing project
- To borrow wheelbarrows, gardening tools and paint brushes on the day.
Please
fill in the slip below and return to school by Tuesday 5 May if you are able to
help out.
We
appreciate your time and support.
