To Staff and the Woodstock School Community
It is with a heavy heart that I must
announce to you all that Mr Steve Ostermann has announced his retirement,
effective the end of Term 1 2015. His resignation was tendered at our
recent Board Meeting and was accepted by the Board of Trustees.
Steve has been in the education sector for 47
years, with 23 years as our Principal. Some of his many achievements as
our Principal include the establishment of the Conductive Education Unit; the
introduction of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) into our
School; and his leadership with the implementation of our School Based Curriculum.
Steve is well respected by his peers for his leadership within the educational
sector. His passion for education as a whole has seen him leading the
Fairfield Cluster Principal Team, as well as being heavily involved as the
Chairman of the NZEI Waikato Principal’s Council and the Waikato Convenor of
NZEI member support teams and a member of Ministry of Education National
Reference Groups.
We will be ensuring Steve has an
appropriate farewell before his final departure and future communications will
come out as these details are finalised. In the meantime, we wish
Steve and his family all the best as he prepares for the exciting next phase of
his life.
Yours sincerely
Sean Lewis
Chairperson
Woodstock School Board of Trustees
