Principal Appointment – Update

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am very pleased to announce that Mrs Jenny Mills has accepted the permanent position of Principal at Woodstock School, commencing 20 April 2015.

Jenny has considerable experience within the education sector.  She has taught in mainstream Primary Schools and in Special Education.  She has held roles with the University of Waikato as a Lecturer and Assessment Advisor.  Jenny has been our Deputy Principal at Woodstock since 2006.  She has stepped up on a number of occasions as the Acting Principal for our school.  She has also spent time with the Ministry of Education as a Senior Advisor focused on Education, Curriculum and Performance.  Jenny is well respected within the education sector for her pedagogical knowledge.  She has recently completed her Master of Educational Leadership and her dissertation is being submitted for publishing in an international educational journal.

Please join me in congratulating Jenny on her appointment.  The Board looks forward to working with Jenny as she transitions and takes over the Principal’s role.

Junior Reading Books

Please Help Us!!

Can you have a look at home and in your children’s bags or book bags for any of our school’s junior readers and return these to us as soon as possible.


We have approx. 300 of these books not returned as of yet and it is a huge cost to our school to replace these books if they are not returned.


Each reading book is worth $10.00 each to replace so as you can imagine we are looking at thousands of dollars of resources. Please check under beds, in book shelves, in cars etc …

Principal Appointment Update

The applications have now closed for the applications for the new Principal’s appointment and the Board is now in the process of short listing the candidates for the interviews that will take place on the 13^th Dec. Many of the applications received are from individuals of very high calibre and we are confident that we will be in a position to select a suitable person for our school by the end of this term.

We would like to thank everyone for their input as part of the recent consultation process.  Your input was included as part of the overall application pack and can be found in the application pack on the School’s website.
