Woodstock Gala Update

GALA UPDATE
Saturday 31st October 10am – 2pm

GALA LINK ONLINE AND LIVE NOW!!!
It is with great excitement that we have launched the PTA Gala Link on our school website at www.woodstock.school.nz/gala  Please take the time to have a look!

All our major sponsors are listed and I would urge you to support them when and if you can. We are very grateful to these companies for their generosity and willingness to be part of our big day.

Please also take time to send this link to as many people as you can so that we are able to capture a wider community who would be interested in having a “Family, friends, food and fun” day out! Further information will be added to the website as the 31st October date gets closer.

You can also find information and invite friends to the gala via our Facebook page: Woodstock Primary School and our Woodstock School Gala Event page. Please LIKE & INVITE now!

In the meantime, start looking around the house for items that you would be able to donate to the following stalls:
White elephant, Second hand sports gear, Pre loved kids dress ups.
Keep them in a box at home for a little longer yet and we will begin to ask for them to be brought to school after the holidays.  SO….have a big clean up in your homes and garages over the holidays and get ready to bring items in at the beginning of term 4.

These are the things you can do to help right now!

·         Please…drop off any new donations to the school office as soon as possible.  We need prizes for games and items to raffle!

·         Please…tell your childs teacher if you are able to help with their Syndicate stalls at the Gala.  We also have a ‘sign up’ sheet in the school office which lists all the stalls and activities we need helpers for. We need as many people as possible to run this event!

Any questions please contact Kaelee on 021545451 or email morgankaelee@ihug.co.nz

Balloon Powered Cars

Mrs Johnson is very proud of the children who have been working with her during the electives programme on Fridays.  This video shows what technology group have been up to while making Balloon Powered Cars.  Looks like a lot of learning has occurred as well as a lot of FUN!

Woodstock School Touch

The touch season will begin in term 4. The season is around 8 weeks.  Coaches of the teams get to decide which day their team will play.
If your child is interested in playing touch for Woodstock School please fill in the following details.  As you can appreciate, organising teams is a time consuming job, and it is frustrating when children pull out once the teams have been organised, so please ensure you have discussed with your child that Touch is a commitment that involves weekly practises and a game every Monday or Thursday afternoon.
The Woodstock School Touch teams cater for our year 1 to 6 students. The organisations of these teams are as follows:
·         Year 1 and 2 play together in a team
·         Year 3 and 4 play together in a team
·         Year 5 and 6 play together in a team
Forms need to be returned to the school office by Friday 18th September.
