Junior School Cross Country

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The Junior School Cross Country will be held on Tuesday 26^th May from 11am-12.15pm, on the Woodstock School Fields. This event involves all Year 0 - Year 3 children. All children at Woodstock School are expected to participate in the Cross Country and it would be great if you could come along to support your child/children in their achievements. The races will be run in the following order Year Zero and One (girls then boys), Year Two (girls then boys) and Year 3 (girls then boys). Unfortunately we are unable to give an approximate time of each race, apart from the start time of 11am.

Postponement day:

If the Cross Country is unable to go ahead due to wet weather,

the postponement day will be Thursday 28^th May. This call will be

made by 8.15am on Tuesday.

House colours:

Children wearing their house colours on the day of the Cross Country will be awarded house points!

Clothing and Footwear:

Please encourage your child/children to bring appropriate running clothing and footwear to school on the day. Because the weather has been wet and the fields are muddy please pack a change of clothes in your child’s school bag each day, in case they trip over during practices or on race day.

Woodstock PTA School Gala

We are planning a School Gala for term 4.

Planning and preparation is beginning and we need to hear from you asap!

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We need to know about your skills, resources and contacts..

For example;

• Do you have a scissor lift or access to one?
• Could you provide storage for Gala items?
• Are you a hairdresser?
• Do you have or know of someone who has a pony for rides?
• Bouncy castles/ Zorbing/ Dunking machine/ PopCorn machine?

Do you have any fantastic ideas for the Gala? Maybe you’ve seen a cool idea at another gala…

• Stalls
• Activities
• Rides
• Food

We also need items for quick fire raffles & auction;

• Can you donate items or experiences for auction?
• Can you donate services for auction – window cleaning, pool cleaning, gardening services, car service, dog wash?
• We will also have a limited amount of stalls that businesses can sponsor and have their signage on that stall – fantastic advertising opportunity!

Planning;

We would also like to know if you can help us manage any aspect of the gala from planning through to the event?

This will be a great opportunity for you to promote your business & we would love to involve our school community before we approach the wider community.
