THANK YOU!!!!
Dear Year Four Students, Parents Helpers on Camp and Caregivers,

Thank you  everyone for trusting your children into our care for the Year 4 Camp to Camp Karakariki.  We all had an amazing time.
Thank you  to all of the students.  You were AWESOME!!!  You all behaved exceptionally well, challenging yourselves and supporting each other.  Each and every one of you made the most of your new experiences.  There were many, many ‘firsts’ on camp, and you all achieved the goals you set for yourselves.  We are very proud of you all.

We had an amazing group of parents who came with us to help on camp.  Thank you so much for being so caring, helpful and an amazing group to take care of our campers.  You helped to make the teachers and students time on camp a happy and enjoyable experience.

We have taken many photos to remember our time at Camp Karakariki.  If you are a parent who came to camp, we would love for you to email your photos to rachaelt@woodstock.school.nz or pass them onto your child’s teacher on a flash drive.

We will be compiling all of our photos onto a CD.  Once this is completed we will let you know about how to get a copy.

Thank you for providing us with yummy treats to eat on camp.  We will do our best to return your containers as soon as we can.

 Kind regards,

Rachael Tangney, Anna Crawford and Rebecca Low

Buddy Day
I have attached a few photos of me and my buddy, Alfie Bells (R6 Woodstock School) for Buddy Day on Friday. I work as a Postie and he went around in the back of my bike while I delivered mail on my run in Rototuna.  I was able to get 34 people to sign his 'buddy diary'.
Cheers
Malcolm

SUNSAFE POLICY: In accordance with our school’s sun safe policy
ALL children MUST wear a hat with a brim whenever they are outside after Labour Weekend. Hats can be purchased from the school office. Please name your child’s hat. Children without a hat MUST sit under the large trees by the courts — not ideal for our active young students. So please make sure they bring their hats each day. Sunblock is best applied before your child leaves the house. If your child brings sunblock to school they are encouraged to not share it.

Please note: Teachers are unable to apply sun block to students.

Scholastic Book Club:  The last offer of the year has been sent home. Books make great Christmas presents.   Please note the cut off for this is 28 November and all orders should be sent to the school office on or before this date.  Please make cheques payable to Scholastic NZ.

Yummy Apple Stickers:  Thanks to all those who collected the stickers, the school has received $376 to spend on sports equipment.  Please continue to collect stickers and panels for next years competition.

Smart Water starts with you!-Alert Level 1
Everyone in Hamilton, Waikato and Waipa districts are being asked to limit the use of their sprinklers because we are going to Water Alert Level 1 today.

Water Alert Level 1 means residents can use their sprinklers only between 6-8am and 6-8pm but they can use hand-held hoses at any time.

Alert Level 1 has been put in place at this early stage because the demand for water is a lot higher than what is usually expected for November even with the rainfall on Tuesday.

In Hamilton for example at this time of year, the long term average daily water use is around 53 million litres. On Monday this week, Hamilton used 72.9 million litres – the fifth highest consumption day that we’ve experienced over the last 13 years during the month of November! Waikato and Waipa water demand is also high. This puts pressure not just on people, but also all the plants and animals in rivers, streams and springs that rely on a certain level of water for their survival.

Being smart with water is often only thought about in the summer months but it is really important that people are smart with their water all year round including summer.

Everyone has a part to play on conserving water now and in the future. Making small changes, such as limiting the use of your sprinkler in your garden or fixing a leaking tap, can have a positive impact on decreasing water demand.

We are all in this together, so lets be smart with our water now and for future generations.
